How Marine Protected Areas Boost Fisheries for Modern Professionals

But after a decade of monitoring data, economic analyses, and direct collaboration with fishing communities, I can confidently say that well-designed MPAs boost fisheries in ways that modern professionals cannot afford to ignore. The key is understanding the ecological mechanisms—spillover of adult fish, export of larvae, and protection of critical habitats—and then aligning fishing strategies with these processes.
